Steven
L. Schwieger Senior
Instructor Mr.
Steven L. Schwieger is currently developing a 3-day Leadership Forum
focusing on Crisis Leadership for several Chicago suburban Police
Departments. As an
Instructor for the Northeast Multi-Regional Training Team located in
Aurora, Illinois, Mr. Schwieger was part of a team of Instructors that
is charged with the continuing education of Police Officers, course
development, and conducting training seminars.
These courses included: Supervision of Critical Incidents,
Management and Leadership of Critical Incidents, and Conduct of Internal
Affairs. At
the request of the Northeast Multi-Regional Training Team, Mr. Schwieger
evaluated various Terrorism related seminars: Homeland Security/State of
Illinois, Incident Command Systems, Terrorism Threat Assessment and
Response, Emergency Response to Terrorism- Basic Concepts, and The
application of new laws relative to Terrorism presented by the Northwest
Chiefs Training Academy. He
has extensive experience in the “real world of critical incidents”. Mr.
Schwieger has also served as an instructor for the Northwestern
University Traffic Institute where he has developed, administered, and
instructed in the area of Executive Development.
He was responsible for both the administration and instructing in
a 5 day Management Development for over 1,100 Chicago Police Department
Sergeants. This program
took place over a period of 18 months. Previously,
Mr. Schwieger served as a Command Officer for the Chicago Police
Department with 35 years of service.
As a Commanding Officer of the Support Section, Electronic, and
Motor Maintenance Division he was responsible for the necessary
logistical support for over 3,100 vehicles, budgeting, procurement,
accident evaluation, and prevention programs.
As Commanding Officer of the Equipment and Supply Section, he had
Command responsibility for an on-going inventory in excess of 14 million
dollars. Mr.
Schwieger’s extensive career covered all aspects of Policing, working
4 years in the Patrol Division, promoted to Detective assigned to
Homicide and Burglary Sections, promoted to Sergeant of the Detective
Division responsible for supervising investigations in the following
areas: Homicide, Sexual Assault, Robbery, Burglary also the Intelligence
Division supervising a Major Narcotics Investigation Team.
He was promoted to Lieutenant serving as Watch Commander in
several high crime districts with the responsibility for the management
of 70 officers including 20 – 30 Tactical and Gang Suppression
Officers. Mr.
Schwieger was an Adjunct Professor at Harper Junior College’s Criminal
Justice Program located in Palatine, Illinois.
He received a Degree in Social Science from DePaul University and
a Masters Degree in Social Justice from Lewis University. |
